Judith Bigham is an enthusiastic art and design doyenne.
A devotee of the visual arts with an eye for authenticity and subtle beauty. Judith has been a working artist from a young age. She sold her first piece at age 11 when her cousin brought Judith clay from the Castle Hill Art Center in Truro on Cape Cod. Judith fashioned a vase shaped like a shoe! When the same cousin brought the piece to the art center to be fired, Judith found her first client! Someone wanted to buy it… art and commerce do mix!
Judith attended The Rhode Island School of Design and studied both painting and textile design. Quenching her love of the fine arts and the decorative arts. Her design career has been as colorful and intriguing as Judith herself. She sold hand printed textiles on the streets of New York, sold her designs toBarney’s NYC and Fred Segal LA. She made retail displays for ABC Carpet and Home NYC, she studied with the greatAmerican folk artist Howard Finster and she has forever been immersing herself in all things art-y and design-y! Her fine art and decorative arts background and knowledge inform her work which has it’s roots the classical traditions, yet she is always looking forward with vision.
